Ornamental Cornice Collection

Our Ornamental cornice collection is made up of Cornice designs that we feel require their own separate identity. It could well be argued that many of these could be correctly categorised within one of the other collections, but for differing and varied reasons it is our opinion that these designs deserve their own section.

Each of these designs is based upon well proportioned profile layout and use of typical Cyma, scotia, torus or fillets as to our other collections. Ornament both geometric or enriched is again based upon classic features of floral, egg and dart, bead and reel, or modillion block.

So why the separate collection?

The majority of these Cornice designs were drawn up as bespoke sections, based upon correct setting out and layout for the desired period but with a certain element of personalisation for the project in question. The remainder of the designs are one off designs of a certain type, such as Gothic or Colonial.

We have therefore created a collection to provide a viewing platform for these waif and strays within our design range.

  5. HPS95 Enriched Cornice "MV" HPS95 Enriched Cornice "MV" is a large fibrous plaster moulding with a bead design to the top member and an intricate leaf and acorn border to the wall line. Separated by a series of cyama recta, cyma reversa, cavetto and plain fillet segments.

    HPS95 Enriched Cornice "MV" is a large fibrous plaster moulding with a bead design to the top member and an intricate leaf and acorn border to the wall line. Furthermore, these enrichments are then separated by a series of cyama recta, cyma reversa, cavetto and plain fillet segments. HPS95 is an ornamental cornice with the reference "MV" referring to the bespoke ceiling project in the Mari Vanna restaurant in Knightsbridge central London for whom it was manufactured.

This moulding was manufactured as a bespoke design based upon the “Colonial” style. This was originally manufactured for use in the Mari Vanna restaurant in Knightsbridge in central London.
