Classical Cornice Collection
Our Classical cornice collection is based upon authentic designs relating originally to the forms of the 5 orders of architecture. However, it is only the Doric, Ionic and Corinthian orders that hold particular relevant to our collection as these are in far more general use. Please do refer to our general introduction found at the opening page of our Cornice collection section for some further information on the 5 orders.
The designs included in this collection would take their dimensions and detail from original designs incorporated into the relevant entablature for that particular order. So that a simple dentil block cornice would be a Doric Order cornice, whilst a large and enriched modillion block design would be based upon a Corinthian entablature.

HPS80 Egg & Dart Cornice "Chesterfield"HPS80 Egg and Dart Cornice "Chesterfield" is a standard fibrous plaster moulding from Heritage Plaster Services.The HPS80 Egg and Dart Cornice is great example of a Georgian drip profile egg and dart moulding with an open acanthus leaf to the top member. Note the depth and shape of the egg and dart ornamentation. Originally taken from an existing fibrous plaster moulding to a property on Chesterfield St within Belgravia on the Grosvenor Estate. Chesterfield St bounded the grounds of Lord Chesterfield and was home to “Beau” Brummel for many years. This HPS80 fibrous cornice moulding is manufactured in 3 metre lengths. HPS81 Drip Cornice "Curzon"HPS81 Drip Cornice is a large Georgian fibrous plaster profile with a double leaf enrichment on the top and bottom members, egg & dart and dentil ornamentation, all of fine proportion of the ionic order. The attention would be drawn to the correct setting out this ornamentation at mitre junctions. Originally taken from an existing moulding to a property on Curzon St within Belgravia on the Grosvenor Estate. HPS82 Cornice "Chesham"HPS82 Cornice “Chesham”is a highly ornate modillion block fibrous plaster moulding based on the Corinthian order. Its Comprised of the enriched block, with a double leaf enrichment to top member, then framed with egg & dart, bead and real ornamentation to the wall line, all in a fine proportion.The attention is drawn to the correct setting out of this ornamentation at mitre junctions. HPS82 Cornice was originally taken from an existing cornice moulding in a property in Chesham place within the Cadogan estate in central London, the estate becoming the Manor of Chelsea through the marriage of Lord Cadogan and the heiress to Sir Hans Sloane. HPS28 Dentil Cornice “Hamilton”HPS28 Dentil Cornice Hamilton is a good example of a classic drip style Georgian dentil moulding with large dentils sitting beneath the cyma recta and cavetto sections to the top member.
HPS28 Dentil Cornice “Hamilton” was originally taken from an existing moulding in the St Johns Wood area of North East London during a refurbishment.
