Project Details

Location: London SE18 1JL

Completed in June 2018 in a private residence in the Dulwich area of London. The cornice to the ground floor main reception rooms and entrance hallways was highly compromised by many layers of historic paint, whilst several sections of applied leaf enrichment where lost totally or had been previously repaired to a poor standard.

The paint was removed throughout all areas to the cornice, ceiling roses, panelled beam and corbels to the entrance hallway, using the poultice process.

Upon completion of the paint removal all the poor previous repairs were cut away and the remaining original plasterwork was stabilised. Silicon moulds were manufactured in our workshop to match to all the original enriched and plain sections, from which new casts were taken, installed and made good.

Smaller in situ repairs being completed throughout all the areas inclusive of raking out cracks to the ceiling plaster and remaining existing sections of cornice, these cracks then being caulked and made good into the adjoining areas of plaster.
